Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu system is taught at the Academy. BJJ is a ground fighting system which first arrived on the Australian martial arts scene in 1989. There are five main levels within the BJJ system; white belt, blue belt, purple belt, brown belt and finally black belt.
Through media exposure and the popularity of the UFC and other no-rules type events, BJJ has entered the public domain and has now become a very popular sport. The Gracie Barra BJJ system has been made popular by multiple world title holders like Roger Gracie.

BJJ training provides a total body work out and is great for self defence. There is also a large competition scene in NSW for those looking to put their skills to the test.
Muay Thai Kick Boxing
Kickboxing refers to the sport of using martial-arts-style kicks and western-boxing-style punches to defeat an opponent in a similar way to that of standard boxing. Kickboxing is a standing sport and does not allow continuation of the fight once a combatant has reached the ground. Kickboxing is often practised for general fitness, or as a full-contact sport.

The Academy's kick boxing classes are conducted in such a way to suit the novice trainer right through to the fighter looking to get in the ring. Time in the class is generally split between bag/technique work and sparring.
Mixed Martial Arts
Mixed martial arts combines skills including striking, wrestling and submissions and is the ultimate fighting system.
The Academy's MMA classes are suited to all levels of ability and fitness.

For guys looking to take it to the next level and step into the cage, the Academy can offer a rigorous curriculum and regular stable of fighters from various backgrounds to train with.
